About the Hotel
The Grosvenor was bought by the Richardson Hotel Group in 2013 and has undergone a drastic much needed refurbishment over the past 12 months.
Situated in a prime position, just a short, leisurely walk from Torre Abbey Gardens and Torquay’s main seafront and marina, The Grosvenor Hotel is ideally located for getting around the Torbay area, the nearby historic fishing port of Brixham, delightful Dartmouth and neighbouring Paignton. If you would rather leave the car behind, all areas are accessible – on foot, by bus, by train or, a great way to travel in the south west, by boat.
Child Friendly Award
Our spacious 47 bedroom hotel was recently awarded Child Friendly Matters Accreditation, making The Grosvenor Hotel an ideal choice for families and those wishing to explore Torbay, the delights of a sandy beach and the many local attractions.
During our recent refurbishment we have fully embraced the Child Friendly Matters ethos. We have all the facilities a family needs for a truly family friendly stay, as well as for any day visitor to the hotel, whether for a meal, or a dip in one of the pools! See the Child Friendly Matters website for the full list of Child Friendly facilities.
Our 47 bedrooms are spacious and all are en-suite. We offer a variety of room categories, including double and twin rooms, sea view rooms, large family rooms and some extra special rooms with private balconies or terrace.
Check in and check out times
Your room will be available from 3pm on the day of arrival. Check out is 11am, if you would like to extend your check out time it would be charged at £10 per hour after 11am.
The Grosvenor Hotel also has a heated indoor & outdoor swimming pool, along with a well equipped gym, hot tub & sauna for you relax and unwind in. WIFI is available in all the public areas.
Unfortunately the Hotel is not suitable for guests who are completely wheelchair-bound, as all bedrooms are reached by stairs or the stair lift.
Some bedrooms have walk-in showers, and the bathrooms can accommodate a standard size wheelchair. There is a ramp from the main entrance to the reception and lounge bar.
Disabled parking can be reserved.
The Grosvenor Hotel originally started life as two Victorian Villas, The Glefinnan and The Roslin Hall, they began trading as hotels around 110 years ago and were then joined together to create The Grosvenor some years later. The building has striking Victorian architecture and many of the bedrooms still retain their elegant Victorian proportions and features as does the ground floor hallway.
The Grosvenor Hotel was brought into the Richardson Group in the Autumn of 2012, taking the total number of hotels in the Group to five.
