PAIGNTON FESTIVAL 2016 – TORBAY CARNIVAL
Paignton Festival – 23rd-31st July 2016
Paignton Festival (Torbay Carnival) has been running for over 100 years. It started out as a one night carnival – a procession of local organisation through the streets of Torbay. The carnival then grew by popular demand and now runs over nine days; it’s full of entertainment for all ages to enjoy. Paignton Festival operates to raise funds for local charities and organisations.
Dozens of floats, marching bands, majorettes and fancy dress walkers will make up the procession. This will leave Paignton Green and follows its traditional route through Paignton and return to the Green.
There will be plenty to see, and the competition for the titles in all categories will be intense
Throughout the action packed 9 days you will be able to watch lots of fantastic live music, including local bands and many renowned tribute acts. These include Robbie Experience, Neil Diamond Tribute and a Justin Bieber Tribute from London.
You will also be able to see a variety children entertainment including a Punch and Judy show and Entertainment teams ready to make you sing and laugh. There will be a Fair based on Paignton green for all ages to ensure there is something for everybody.
The main carnival procession through Paignton will be on Wednesday 27th July starting at Paignton Green around 19:45. The Party on the Green with Breeze FM (including local live music and a firework display) will be on Saturday 23rd July starting at 15:00 till 23:00.
